3D Installation
To accompany the 2D visualization, the 3D installation takes PAC data of donor amounts, total donated amount, and total expenditures to make a to-scale walkthrough experience by placing each data point adjacent to each other. With the proposed use of concrete and semi-translucent plexiglass, the installation allows the viewer to experience the money spending within an election year and get a sense of how it compares to themself.
Location
The location is the Freedom Plaza at our nation’s capital: Washington D.C. This site is significant in history for numerous protests and installations being held there. As this 3D installation aims to reveal the corruption in our government, this historical significant plaza seems apt.  It also lies at the midpoint between the White House and the U.S Capitol building and will facilitate a lot of foot traffic, which is perfect since this installation aims to reach as many people as possible.

“The Election Money Trail” is oriented towards Pennsylvania Ave and straight towards the U.S Capitol Building. As viewers make their way through the S-shaped curve installation, they stop to look out at Pennsylvania Ave and towards the Capitol Building, connecting the amount of money spent and how it is used in our government.
The pointedness towards the U.S Capitol Building is an attempt at making a statement about our government and the ways in which money is misused.
